iSCO Art for Sale: The Struggle is Real - Mayo GAA Wins!

This profound connection between belief and artistic expression is vividly captured in a special artwork I created back in 2015 called "The Struggle is Real", which chronicles the relentless journey of the Mayo Gaelic Football Men’s Team towards the All-Ireland GAA Championship and the Sam Maguire Cup which they won this year.
The Mayo GAA Determination
County Mayo holds a deeply personal place in my heart. It is the very county where I founded my art and design practice. Known far and wide as a haven for great, inspiring artists, Mayo’s stunning landscapes and passionate community naturally gives rise to a strong artistic spirit.
I created this artwork with this in mind, as well as the determination of its GAA team - and its people - to reach upward towards that dream of Gaelic Football victory and the Sam Maguire.
For decades, Mayo GAA fans experienced heartbreaks and near-misses.
I hoped that when I painted this piece more than a decade ago, I was capturing the unwavering belief that the team would one day reach the pinnacle of Irish sport. Now, in 2026 — 11 years after the artwork was created and a historic 75 years since their last title — that dream has finally come true.
The Mayo GAA team has officially won the All-Ireland Championship!
Seeing this victory unfold proves how art can foretell triumph and keep passion burning bright through the hardest struggles. For me personally, it was also very heart-warming indeed to witness.
