Scandinavian... clean, geometric, minimal. Yes, that's why it's such a perfect choice for a home office. Remember the blog I made before on Home Office Design? Here in this case study, I aimed to address all the points I've raised, plus be able to make a interesting, practical design while adding touches of texture (such as in the warmth of the rug, the wood and the wicker) and colour accents. And what's more, this fits a very tight space of 3 x 1.4 mts, and on a budget (and can be ordered online) courtesy of Jysk. Their newest branch has recently opened here in Limerick.
I'm also thrilled to be able to model this in 3D, since with any client, nothing communicates a design better than through seeing it in a proposed sketch or 3D view (like a good Before and After view). MOOD BOARD SAMPLE 1: The Bohemian Living Room
In terms of interior design style, my favourite will always be Bohemian. Its beauty lies in the harmonious way textures, colour and patterns come together, and how every single piece tells a story. And as a fan of knick-knacks or second-hand treasures, it is in this style where they find a home best. It is a challenge, though, when you try to layer and balance backdrop and foreground/accent items, as again the key is in not going overboard.
MOOD BOARD SAMPLE 2: A Touch of Breton Coastal in the Bedroom
Nothing says "fresh and breezy" than the nautical style of Brittany. It exemplifies blue skies and sandy shores, and of course the sea, where the inspiration is primarily drawn. The Breton Stripe - dating back to nearly 1850 - is also one of the key patterns used. As such, a bedroom is the perfect place to recreate this style, invoking calm, relaxation and tranquility - all the ingredients for a good night's sleep!
